Ahead of a first quarter 2025 Australian release, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 has been revealed with updated styling, new features and upgrades to its safety suite. Stylistically, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 has received a big exterior update with updated new front and rear styling giving it an even sharper look. The grille is new and now features a massive Mazda badge, while the headlights have been redesigned to look like the CX-5 with integrated twin daytime running lights.

New alloy wheel designs also feature, while at the rear, redesigned LED tailights and a new ridged design on the tailgate give the BT-50 an “unmistakable presence”, according to Mazda. The company has also added three new colours for a total of seven: ‘Red Earth Metallic’ (shown in these press photos), ‘Geode White Pearl’ and ‘Sailing Blue Metallic’.

Two USB-C ports now feature in the front cabin, while a lot of the materials have been updated.

There is now all-black leather, replacing the brown and black of the pre-updated model, while the flagship model features black leather and terracotta ‘Maztex’ synthetic leather. The trims have also been changed, with the previous piano black trim now deleted.

Like its D-Max twin, the updated BT-50 has earned an upgraded active safety suite thanks to upgraded stereo cameras that double the vehicle’s field of view, according to Mazda. Traffic jam assist is a new feature, as is rear cross-traffic braking and intelligent adaptive cruise control, which uses the enhanced traffic sign recognition system to set the vehicle’s speed.

The auto emergency braking system also now features motorcycle detection and pedestrian detection at intersections, while emergency lane keeping is capable of detecting road edges without line markings. The digital rear camera available on some models now has a hydrophobic coating to keep it cleaner, and dynamic guidelines have been added to the touchscreen display to assist with parking manoeuvres. Finally, a USB port has been added to the rear mirror housing.

The 2025 Mazda BT-50 will go on sale in Australia in the first quarter of 2025, with pricing and specifications to be announced closer to then. Stay tuned to DiscoverAuto for the latest automotive news and reviews.
