Nissan Australia has launched a new N-Trek version of the X-Trail mid-size SUV, which is due in Nissan showrooms later this month. Priced from $47,290 plus on-road costs, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail N-Trek adds a whole host of new equipment to the X-Trail ST-L on which it’s based, including off-road style bumpers, more technology like a head-up display and even an available two-tone roof.

According to the company, “Nissan’s iconic family SUV will take a further step into the wild with the introduction of the N-Trek variant, aimed at families who are more adventurous and daring.”

“Built off the ST-L grade trim, the new addition to the X-Trail range is named N-Trek, reflecting the outdoors-inspired character of the vehicle, which takes the X-Trail to the next level of all-wheel drive adventure.”

Based on the mid-spec X-Trail ST-L, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail N-Trek adds a new 18-inch alloy wheel design, a darkened grille, a different lower bumper design, black-painted mirror caps, door handles and roof rails.

Inside the X-Trail N-Trek also sees new equipment, including a new water-resistant synthetic leather upholstery, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.8-inch head-up display.

Based on the X-Trail ST-L, the N-Trek otherwise features a 360-degree camera, automatic LED exterior lighting, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, heated front seats and a long list of safety equipment. Under the bonnet of the X-Trail N-Trek is the same 135kW/244Nm naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Claimed combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.4L/100km for the five-seat 2WD and 7.8L/100km for the seven-seat AWD.

Colour options for the X-Trail N-Trek include ‘Gun Metallic’, ‘Champagne Silver’, ‘Ivory Pearl’, ‘Diamond Black’ and ‘Ceramic Grey’ are available in single-tone finish. The white, silver and grey options are also available in two-tone configurations with a black roof.
