Ahead of an early 2024 showroom release, Australian pricing and specifications for the 2024 Nissan Qashqai e-Power hybrid have been released. Priced from $51,590 plus on-road costs – $4,200 higher than the equivalent petrol model – the hybrid Qashqai will only be offered initially in Australia in top-spec Ti guise. Like the larger X-Trail e-Power, the Qashqai uses a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine as a generator for the 140kW electric motor that powers the front wheels.
“We know Australians love the driving dynamics of the X-Trail e-Power, and we are thrilled to offer this innovative technology on a second model, expanding its potential further,” says Nissan Australia Managing Director, Adam Paterson.
“Whether you’re in the city, further afield, or travel frequently between both, the Nissan Qashqai e-Power provides a smooth, exciting, drive without ever having to stop to recharge.”
Under the bonnet of the 2024 Nissan Qashqai e-Power hybrid is a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder variable compression petrol engine that powers a 140kW/330Nm electric motor which sends propulsion to the front wheels only. The claimed 0-100km/h sprint time for the e-Power is 7.9 seconds, which is a second faster than the petrol Qashqai (8.9 seconds).
The Qashqai e-Power is rated at 5.2L/100km on the combined fuel consumption cycle, which is almost a litre less than the 110kW/250Nm 1.3-litre turbo-petrol Qashqai variants. CO2 emissions for the hybrid are rated at 117g/km versus 138g/km for the petrol model.
