Ahead of the first units landing in local showrooms soon, Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced local pricing and specifications for the 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Not a facelift but just a model year update, pricing for all grades has increased by $500 but the entry-level ES has earned more standard equipment, while the former-limited edition Black Edition is now a permanent model sitting in between the base ES and second-up LS.

“The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and Eclipse Cross Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) continue to be distinctive options for Australian consumers,” said MMAL CEO, Shaun Westcott.

“From dynamic ride and handling capabilities to its unique exterior aesthetic the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a stylish choice for those seeking their next adventure,” he said.

For the entry-level ES and its ES plug-in hybrid sibling, the 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has added some worthy new standard equipment, including:

  • Dusk-sensing automatic headlights (without the ‘off’ switch – thank you Mitsubishi!)
  • Rain-sensing automatic wipers
  • Rear LED fog light (all models)
  • Soundproof windshield glass
  • Lane departure warning (ES petrol – already standard on the ES PHEV)

Above the ES now sits the Black Edition, priced from $34,990 plus on-road costs, which adds:

  • Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Auto-dimming rear mirror
  • Lane change assistance
  • Rear USB-A and USB-C charging ports
  • Black 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Gloss black exterior trim
  • Black leather steering wheel with grey stitching
  • Black Edition-specific interior trims
  • Four-way electric driver’s seat
  • Suede and faux leather trim
  • Heated front seats

There have been no other changes to the 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross lineup, which still offers either turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or 2.4-litre four-cylinder plug-in hybrid drivetrains, in either front-wheel drive (petrol-only) or all-wheel drive. The petrol engine is rated between 7.3L/100km (2WD) and 7.7L/100km (AWD) on the combined fuel consumption cycle, with the plug-in hybrid returning just 1.9L/100km and an all-electric range of 55km on the NEDC cycle.
