More than a year since it was revealed globally, Honda Australia has announced Australian pricing for the 2024 Honda CR-V, which goes on sale locally on September 1st, 2023. Priced from $44,500 drive away, the price of entry to the CR-V range has increased by $8,600 – but Honda says that’s because the new model is larger and better equipped across the range. As before, both five- and seven-seat options will be available, with optional all-wheel drive and even a new hybrid drivetrain at the top of the range.

“Honda Australia is extremely excited to be launching the all-new CR-V to the Australian market, as this nameplate has been a consumer favourite since its introduction to the Australian market 26 years ago” said Ms. Carolyn McMahon.

“This next generation CR-V has evolved with family needs and offers everything our customers love about the outgoing model and more. Including increased cabin space, 5 and 7 seat options, 2WD and AWD drive systems and appealing drivability across the range”.

While Honda Australia is yet to announce full specifications for the CR-V range, it will reportedly come standard with the Honda Sensing suite of active safety kit, as well as the Honda Connect live functionality for the infotainment system. Both 1.5-litre turbo-petrol – with optional all-wheel drive on five-seat models – and 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid drivetrains will be offered, with the hybrid only offered at the top of the range in a new RS model.

Measuring 4,694mm long, 1,864mm wide, 1,691mm tall and riding on a 2,700mm wheelbase, the new CR-V is 59mm longer overall, 9mm wider and 12mm taller with a 40mm-longer wheelbase. This places it in the larger end of the medium SUV segment, and it now competes with cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.
