GWM Haval Australia has added a new cheaper hybrid variant of the Jolion range, with the new 2023 GWM Haval Jolion Lux Hybrid now on sale locally priced from $36,990 drive away. Using the same 1.5-litre hybrid drivetrain as the upper-spec Ultra Hybrid, the Lux Hybrid removes some equipment like panoramic sunroof for a $4,000 cheaper price, but it’s still very comprehensively feature-packed.

According to the company, the “first shipments are beginning to arrive and the brand new Jolion Lux Hybrid will be available in GWM showrooms nationally in coming weeks although order books are now open in anticipation of this exciting and value-packed new model arriving.”

Priced from $36,990 drive away, the 2023 GWM Haval Jolion Lux Hybrid uses a 139kW/375Nm 1.5-litre hybrid drivetrain for a claimed combined fuel consumption rating of just 5.0L/100km.

Based on the mid-spec Jolion Lux, the Lux Hybrid features equipment such as 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic all-LED lighting, roof rails, ‘Comfort-tek’ synthetic leather upholstery, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, auto-folding mirrors, keyless entry and start, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch digital driver’s display, a six-speaker sound system and rear privacy glass.

Safety equipment includes seven airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian, cyclist and intersection assist, lane keeping assistance with lane trace assist, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert (with braking), rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

The $4,000 jump to the Ultra Hybrid adds larger 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen.
