Not long after its global reveal, Ford Australia has revealed local pricing and specifications for the 2023 Ford Everest ahead of its arrival in August 2022. Priced from $52,990 plus on-road costs, the new Everest is only priced up to $3,200 more than the previous model, despite featuring significantly more tech and equipment than before. Two engines will be available: a 155kW 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel or a new 184kW 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel that is also the flagship engine in the new Ranger ute. 

“When we started imagining the Next-Gen Everest, we started not at the beginning but at the end: With our customers,” said Ian Foston, chief platform engineer for Everest. 

“They’re people who like adventure, recreation and being able to go out with family and friends. Whether they’re conquering sand, rocks or city life, these customers appreciate the utility, capability and spaciousness of an SUV.”

There will be two drivetrains available for the 2023 Ford Everest: a 154kW/500Nm twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel engine in the Ambiente and Trend, while on Sport and Platinum models will be a 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and can tow up to 3,500kg. 

Standard equipment on the entry-level 2023 Ford Everest Ambiente (4×2: $52,990, 4×4: $57,990 plus on-road costs) includes 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tyres, LED headlights, auto lights and wipers, auto-folding mirrors, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Ford’s latest ‘SYNC 4’ infotainment system, an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, satellite navigation, digital radio, dual-zone climate control, an eight-way manual driver’s sat, keyless entry and start and for 4×4 models, a locking rear differential, an electronic gear shifter and steel underbody protection.

Safety equipment includes nine airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) in both forward and reverse, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. 

The second-from-bottom Everest Trend (4×2: $60,290, 4×4: $65,290) adds 18-inch wheels, privacy glass, a power tailgate, heated mirrors with puddle lamps, a larger 12-inch infotainment screen, seven seats, leather upholstery, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, front floor mats, an upper glove box and for 4×4 models, an off-road screen and rotary drive mode selector.

The Sport ($69,090) then adds 20-inch black wheels and black exterior accents, a hands-free tailgate, black bonnet badging, a 10-speaker sound system, unique interior trims, a 10-way electric driver’s seat with memory, an eight-way powered front passenger seat and heated and cooled front seats.

Finally, the top-spec Everest Platinum ($77,690) adds 21-inch wheels with a matching spare, satin chrome exterior highlights, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, silver roof rails, exterior zone lighting, further underbody protection, a 12-speaker B&O sound system, a 360-degree camera, automatic parking, tyre pressure monitoring, quilted leather upholstery, heated second row seats, a heated steering wheel, front and rear floor mats, interior ambient lighting and power-folding third-row seating. 

A few option packages are available for the Everest. 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres and an alloy spare wheel is available on the Ambiente for $1,100, Trend for $500 and both the Sport and Platinum for no extra cost. A Touring Pack ($1,950) is available on the Trend 4×4 and Sport and adds a 360-degree camera, zone lighting and a tow bar with an integrated brake controller. A $1,700 Tow Pack is available on each model. A Third Row Seat Pack ($950) is available on the Ambiente and a $900 Premium Seat Pack is available for the Trend, which adds heated and cooled front seats, a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory and an eight-way front passenger seat.

Colour choices include ‘Shadow Black’, ‘Aluminium’ (silver), ‘Arctic White’, ‘Meteor Grey’, ‘Sedona Orange’, ‘Equinox Bronze’ and ‘Blue Lightning’ (Sport only) and all colours bar ‘Arctic White’ are $675 extra.
