2023 Ford Ranger and Raptor Priced for Australia

Australian pricing for the 2023 Ford Ranger and the performance Ranger Raptor have been announced ahead of their arrival in June 2022. Priced from $35,930 plus on-road costs, the new Ranger will offer six spec levels, three bodystyles and four different engine choices in its attempt to further take over the ute market in Australia against products like the Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max and Mazda BT-50.

“We’ve really packed a lot into the Next-Generation Ranger to inspire owners to do more of what they love to do, with features that encourage them to explore new horizons,” said Gary Boes, Ford’s Enterprise Product Line Management director, Global Trucks. 

“We’re truck owners too, and this passion for the Ranger lifestyle translates into a passion for the product,” Boes added. “Ultimately, we want our customers’ experience with the pick-up to enable and enhance their lifestyles.”

The 2023 Ford Ranger will be available with four different drivetrains. The entry-level XL is available with a 125kW/405Nm 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine, as well as the 157kW/500Nm twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that’s used in the current Ranger – that engine is available on the XLS, XLT, Sport and Wildtrak as well.

On the XLT, Sport and Wildtrak is an optional 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine, while the Raptor is available exclusively with a 292kW/583Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard on the single-turbo diesel while all other engines are equipped with a 10-speed auto as standard with no manuals this time.

Standard equipment on the entry-level 2023 Ford Ranger XL (from $35,930 plus on-road costs) includes 16-inch steel wheels with a full size spare wheel, automatic halogen headlights with halogen daytime running lights, air-conditioning, power mirrors and windows, an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch portrait touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, vinyl floors and an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat.

Standard safety kit includes nine airbags (including a centre airbag, driver knee airbag, and passenger knee airbag), auto emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, speed sign recognition, lane-keeping assistance, road-edge detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

The Ranger XLS (from $46,730) then adds 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, front parking sensors, carpet flooring, black side steps, four driving modes, a power tailgate lock and a six-speaker sound system.

The Ranger XLT (from $53,990) then adds 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, auto wipers, rear disc brakes, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, dual-zone climate control, a rear sports bar and spray-in bed-liner with a 12V socket (pickup only), a leather steering wheel and gear shifter, keyless entry and start and an auto-dimming rear mirror.

The Ranger Sport (from $63,690) then adds more driving modes, LED front fog lights, dark exterior accents, 18-inch wheels, wireless charging, leather upholstery, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory functionality, an eight-way manually adjustable passenger’s seat and an off-road screen.

The Ranger Wildtrak (from $67,190) then adds a larger 12.0-inch touchscreen, exterior surround lighting, a 360-degree camera, automatic parking, roof rails, a power roller shutter, cargo management, ambient lighting, pull-out cupholders, eight-way adjustable front seats with heating and Wildtrak-branded leather upholstery.

Finally, aside from the engine, the Ranger Raptor (from $85,490) then adds unique styling, Matrix LED headlights with full-LED tailights, an active exhaust, a 2.3mm-thick front bash plate, a 12.4-inch digital driver’s display, paddle shifters, seven drive modes, dual tow hooks, Fox Racing 2.5-inch live valve suspension and Watts Link rear coil suspension.
