Pricing and specifications have been released for the 2022 Volvo V60 Cross Country as part of the MY22 Volvo range with deliveries set to arrive in the next few months. With the sad news that Volvo has removed the regular V60 wagon from their local line up comes the more positive news that its high-riding Cross Country variant is arriving very soon. With a starting price of $64,990 plus on-road costs, the Cross Country variant positions itself between the previous V60 T5 Inscription and V60 T5 R-Design.
Compared with the standard Volvo V60 wagon, the V60 Cross Country has been raised by 75mm, the ground clearance has risen to 203mm, there is now hill descent control, an off-road mode and Cross Country-specific body cladding for a rougher look, as well as extra protection for off-road driving.
The 2022 Volvo V60 Cross Country will come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The combined power outputs are 183kW of power and 350Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The claimed combined fuel consumption for the V60 Cross Country is 7.4L/100km, which is 0.1L/100km more than the standard V60 wagon. The 0-100km/h for the V60 Cross Country is 6.5-seconds.
The V60 Cross Country is equipped with a nine-inch colour touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and satellite navigation, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, quad-zone climate control, 19-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate and the full range of active driver safety features such as AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, auto parking and automatic rear braking.
Optional for the V60 Cross Country will be the $3,675 Lifestyle Package, which includes panoramic roof, rear tinted windows and a choice of two different sound systems – a 600W 14-speaker Harman Kardon unit or a 1,100W 15-speaker Bowers and Wilkins unit (the package with that sound system is $5,985). Also available is tinted windows ($735), a panoramic sunroof ($2,415), a wide range of different leather options including a $2,785 Nappa option, $1,100 massaging front seats, a $585 PM2.5 air filter, $3,765 20-inch alloy wheels and cost-free paint colours.
