Jaguar Land Rover Australia has released pricing and specifications for the 2022 Jaguar F-Type range with the former four-cylinder and V6 petrol engines now discontinued. That’s right, somehow, the F-Type is now only available with supercharged V8 power in Australia in either 331kW/580Nm P450 form or the all-wheel drive 423kW/700Nm F-Type R. The F-Type is the latest update for the 2022 model year in the Jaguar range.
Pricing for the 2022 Jaguar F-Type range now kicks off at $159,900 plus on-road costs – considerably more than the $127,942 plus on-road costs starting price for the 2021 F-Type. But countering that is that the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine is now standard equipment in the 2022 F-Type range and that the new P450 V8 is actually less expensive than the former P380 V6 by almost $15,000.
In ‘entry’ P450 guise, it produces 331kW/580Nm, while the R produces 423kW/700Nm. The P450 is rear-wheel drive but the R is all-wheel drive. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the P450 hits 100km/h in 4.6 seconds – the R hits the same mark in just 3.7 seconds. Both V8 models now feature a switchable sports exhaust.
The R is priced from $264,966 plus on-road costs and now includes a lot more standard equipment for next year, including a panoramic roof, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, premium paint, aluminium paddle shifters, an exterior black pack and 20-inch satin grey alloy wheels.
All 2022 F-Type models also feature a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 10-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, digital radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 380W 10-speaker Meridian sound system.
