Not long after its global reveal, the 2022 Hyundai i30 N Sedan has gone on sale in Australia priced from $49,000 plus on-road costs. Using the same 206kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine as its i30 N hatchback sibling, as well as the Kona N, the i30 N Sedan is capable of a 5.3 second 0-100km/h sprint, and features WRC-inspired features such as a unique drive axle and it even has serious Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (not the usual N Pirelli) tyres. The 2022 Hyundai i30 N Sedan is on sale now.

According to the brand, “Building on the strong market foundations established by i30 N hatch, i30 Sedan N brings a booted compact high-performance model to the Hyundai line-up for the first time.”

“The i30 Sedan N once again resets the high-performance benchmark by over-delivering on the three N product pillars, with a corner rascal character and racetrack capability off the showroom floor, all in an everyday usable sports car” it said.

Standard equipment on the 2022 Hyundai i30 N Sedan is extensive with automatic LED lighting with a triangle LED rear fog light, auto wipers, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory functionality, heated and ventilated front seats, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging and auto-folding mirrors.

Performance equipment includes an active variable exhaust, adaptive suspension, an e-LSD (limited-slip differential), selectable driving modes, performance brakes, a rear stiffness bar, an automatic track lap timer, leather sports front seats, alloy sports pedals, 19-inch wheels with Michelin tyres and a boot-mounted rear wing. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard – but a six-speed manual is optional, which wasn’t known when the i30 N Sedan was revealed.

Safety kit includes seven airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, driver attention monitoring, lane keep assist with lane follow assist, auto high beam, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert with braking assist and tyre pressure monitoring. Unlike the i30 N hatchback, the automatic and manual i30 N Sedan feature the same level of safety kit.

Premium paint options include ‘Intense Blue’, ‘Fiery Red’, ‘Phantom Black’, ‘Fluid Metal’ (grey) and ‘Cyber Grey’ for an extra $495. Standard colours include ‘Polar White’ and the hero ‘Performance Blue’. The only available interior colour is black.

Like other Hyundai products, the i30 N Sedan comes with a five year/unlimited km warranty and lifetime capped price servicing – the cost for each 10,000km/yearly service up to five years/50,000km is $335 each.
