The 2021 Mazda6 GT SP has been added to the Australian Mazda lineup priced from $46,690 plus on-road costs. Featuring unique exterior styling and interior colouring, the GT SP replaces the regular GT in the Mazda6 lineup for 2021 and is aimed at those wanting a sportier looking Mazda6. The rest of the 2021 Mazda6 lineup has changed slightly – the base Sport now features LED headlights, Mazda’s ‘Polymetal Grey’ is now available and GT and Atenza models now feature a Turbo badge.
“As our passenger car flagship, Mazda6 holds strong appeal in its segment with its advanced specification and option of Sedan and Wagon body styles,” said Mazda Australia Managing Director, Vinesh Bhindi.
“This latest update is highlighted by the new GT SP model, which brings a distinctly sporty characteristic to the Mazda6 range and builds on the local GT SP portfolio alongside the CX-9,” he said.
The 20216 Mazda6 GT SP replaces the GT in the lineup and while its performance is the same, it includes a number of dark-coloured exterior details such as the 19-inch alloy wheels and mirror caps, as well as burgundy coloured Nappa leather upholstery, cornering lights for the LED headlights and heated front and rear seats. Like the former GT and top-spec Atenza, the GT SP uses a 170kW/420Nm 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that also features in the CX-5 and CX-9 SUVs.
