LDV has launched the 2024 LDV eDeliver 7, an electric mid-size van to rival the Toyota HiAce, in Australia priced from $59,990 plus on-road costs. Four variants of the eDeliver 7 will be available initially, with conventional ICE-powered variants (under the Deliver name) due at some point in the future. Powered by a 150kW electric motor driving the front wheels, the eDeliver 7 offers up to 362km of range on the WLTP cycle from a battery up to 88kWh in size.

“With the all-new eDeliver 7, LDV set out to overcome the challenge of creating a commercially viable electric van for Australia,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, LDV General Manager.

“In the all-new eDeliver 7, LDV has developed an electric van that can not only challenge the strongest competitors in terms of driving experience, safety, functionality and a commitment to reduced emissions, but do so at a price that reduces the cost of EV entry for businesses across Australia. Put simply, here is a mid-size van that doesn’t cost the earth.”

The second electric mid-size van to launch in Australia after the Mercedes-Benz eVito, the 2024 LDV eDeliver 7 will be offered in four models with two battery sizes, two wheelbase lengths and two roof heights available – though the higher-roof option is only offered in tandem with the longer wheelbase and larger battery. All models are powered by a 150kW/330Nm electric motor driving the front wheels and either a 77kWh or 88kWh battery is available, depending on the model.

On the WLTP cycle, the claimed driving ranges for the 2024 LDV eDeliver 7 range from 310km for the LWB Low Roof 77kWh to 318km for the SWB Low Roof 77kWh to 328km for the LWB High Roof 88kWh to 362km for the LWB Low Roof 88kWh. The 77kWh battery can charge at up to 78kW with the larger 88kWh battery quoting a 90kW maximum – though both battery sizes quote an identical 43 minute 20-80 per cent fast charge time. AC charging occurs at a maximum of 11kW.

Dimensionally, the 2024 LDV eDeliver 7 measures between 4,998mm in length for the SWB variant to 5,364mm for the LWB models. The SWB Low Roof offers 5.9 cubic metres of cargo volume, which expands to 6.7 cubic metres in the LWB Low Roof variants and to 8.7 cubic meters in the LWB High Roof.

For payload, the entry-level SWB Low Roof offers the most at 1,350kg, which lessens to 1,285kg and 1,205kg in the LWB Low Roof 77kWh and LWB Low Roof 88kWh respectively, and to 1,175kg in the LWB High Roof 88kWh. All variants can tow a 1,500kg braked trailer.
