Ahead of a third quarter 2022 local release, Volvo Cars Australia has released local pricing for the 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge. Priced from $74,990 plus on-road costs, the all-electric C40 Recharge will be offered in two grades: a $74,990 single-motor and a $82,490 Twin dual-motor, which is $2,000 for the former and $2,500 for the latter more than the XC40 Recharge on which it’s based.

“The future of Volvo Cars is electric, and the C40 Recharge is the first model in Volvo’s history designed as pure electric only,” said Volvo Car Australia Managing Director, Stephen Connor.

“It has the personality of the very popular XC40, but it’s more dynamic with a sleeker profile. It’s a very attractive car for people who are looking for the easy- to-live-with aspects of an SUV with more of a modern statement.

Using the same ‘Compact Modular Architecture’ platform as the XC40 Recharge and Polestar 2, the 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge features a 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack in single-motor form, and a larger 78kWh battery in the Twin dual-motor variant. The WLTP range for the single-motor C40 is 434km, while the more powerful Twin dual-motor can travel up to 420km on a charge.

Using a 150kW charger, the single-motor C40 can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 32 minutes, with the same replenishment in the Twin dual-motor taking slightly longer at 40 minutes. Charging with up to 11kW AC power is also possible for those charging at home.
