The 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross has been launched in Australia. Priced from $54,990 plus on-road costs, the facelifted C5 Aircross is only available in a single high-spec Sport model that features more standard equipment than the pre-facelifted Shine model that it replaces, which was priced at $52,300 +ORC. New kit includes a larger 10-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control with lane trace assist and a more powerful – yet also more efficient – 1.6-litre turbo engine.

Kate Gillis, Managing Director Citroën Australia, said: “We are delighted to welcome the refreshed C5 Aircross Sport to our local range. We are confident C5 Aircross Sport will appeal to both existing and new Citroën customers in Australia who have a keen eye for style and French flair.

“Not only will the refreshed design cues turn heads, but the inclusion of Citroën’s signature Advanced Comfort philosophy certainly makes our latest SUV offering an attractive package for those wanting on-board peace of mind.”

New to the 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross range is the updated 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Peugeot 3008 GT Sport, which makes 133kW of power (at 5,500rpm) and 250Nm of torque (at 1,650rpm), improvements of 12kW and 10Nm respectively on the 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine in the pre-facelifted model.

The newer engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, two more than the pre-updated car had. Because of the cleaner engine and two more gears, the claimed combined fuel consumption has fallen to just 5.7L/100km, down from 7.9L/100km rating of the pre-updated car.

Citroen Australia has also upgraded the standard equipment list of the 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross, with new features including gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels, gloss black exterior detailing, a larger 10-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, adaptive cruise control with stop and go and lane trace assist for level two autonomous driving, a panoramic sunroof (previously a $1,990 option) and Nappa leather upholstery with heated and electrically adjustable front seats and massaging for the driver’s seat.

The company has also updated the 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross’ colour range, with ‘Polar White’ the only no-cost colour and ‘Perla Nera Black’, ‘Platinum Grey’, ‘Steel Grey’ and ‘Eclipse Blue’ adding $690 to the price and ‘Pearlscent White’ adding $1,050 to the price. Black Nappa leather upholstery with blue highlights is the only interior trim option, regardless of exterior colour chosen.

2023 Citroen C5 Aircross pricing (plus on-road costs):

  • Sport 1.6-litre turbo-petrol 8-speed auto: $54,990
  • Metallic paint: $690
  • Premium paint: $1,090
