The facelifted 2021 Bentley Bentayga has been revealed showcasing new styling, even more technology and even the option of a plug-in hybrid model.
The existing 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 404kW/770Nm will be the first engine choice to adorn the new Bentayga but it will be closely followed by the 497kW/900Nm ‘speed’ variant with the familiar 6.0-litre W12 and a plug-in hybrid. Engine outputs and figures have not been yet revealed on the plug-in hybrid but are to follow.
As before, the 2021 Bentley Bentayga will be mated to an eight-speed torque converter automatic and the V8 model will propel itself to 97km/h from standstill in 4.4 seconds.
Bentley’s new design language, as seen on the new Flying Spur and Continental GT, has been adopted by the new 2021 Bentley Bentayga and Bentley is keen to point out that there will not be a single panel shared with the outgoing model. There is a larger front grill with a new front bumper and LED matrix lights have also found their way onto the new Bentayga. The rear encompasses a new style of tailgate showcasing the full width of the car with tail lights similar to those seen on the Bentley Continental GT.
As before, the interior of the new Bentayga will be covered in leather and wood, although there is a new dash, steering wheel, seats and door trims.
For the first time in a Bentley product, wireless Apple CarPlay will feature as standard along with Android Auto on a new 10.9-inch touchscreen. A digital dash showcasing the signature Bentley dials and a head up display also come as standard.
The 2021 Bentley Bentayga will still be offered with either four-, five- or seven-seat configurations with Bentley emphasising rear seat creature comforts, such as seat heating and ventilation for all passengers in the five-seat Bentayga. This was previously only available on the four-seat model.
Rear passengers get up to 100mm more legroom in the 2021 Bentley Bentayga and a larger five-inch infotainment tablet, allowing controlling the rear temperature, media system, navigation, lighting, seat heating and massage.
A total of five wheel options will be available with the standard size coming in at 22-inches. Newly designed windscreen wiper arms now feature 22 washer jets in each arm.
