Alpina Australia have announced pricing and specifications of the all-new 2021 Alpina XB7. The XB7 is expected to arrive on Australian shores in early 2021.
Based on the 2020 BMW X7 M50i, the 2021 Alpina XB7 gains signature Alpina touches such as increased power, improved driving dynamics and styling changes to set it apart from the BMW.
Available in only one trim, the Alpina XB7 comes in at $264,900 plus on-road costs: an $85,000 price increase over the X7 M50i on which it’s based.
For the extra money, you gain an extra 67kW of power and 50Nm of torque from the same twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 as the X7, as well as an Alpina-tuned all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential and electromagnetic anti-sway bars. The exhaust has also received the Alpina touch as it is now a valved system which can be opened or closed via the selectable driving modes (sport, sport+, comfort and comfort+).
Just like the 2020 BMW X7 M50i, the 2021 Alpina XB7 has air suspension but the Alpina system can be adjusted by up to 40mm.
Alpina’s signature alloy wheels also find their way onto the XB7, they are 21-inches, but buyers can also choose to option a larger set of 23s. Four-piston Brembo brake callipers feature up front and the rear brakes have floating callipers, which are painted in Alpina’s signature blue.
Optional however is a high-performance braking system which consists of light weight drilled brake disks and improved sports brake pads.
The interior of the 2021 Alpina XB7 keeps the seven-seat layout of the 2020 BMW X7 M50i and its seats feature ‘Lavalina’ leather upholstery. A laser-etched Alpina badge features on the iDrive controller and the gauges maintain the signature blue dials that Alpina are known for.
The 2021 Alpina XB7 maintains the same three-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty as the X7 and can also be serviced and maintained through BMW’s dealer network in Australia. Keep your eyes open for an early 2021 release date.
