Ahead of a first quarter 2024 launch, Australian pricing for the 2024 Toyota C-HR has been announced. Now offered solely with hybrid drivetrains, and now made in Turkey and not Japan, the new C-HR starts at $11,275 more than the current model at $42,990 plus on-road costs. Revealed in June, the second-generation C-HR uses the same platform as its predecessor but introduces new styling, a higher-quality cabin, a lot more technology and is the only Toyota in Australia to be offered only as a hybrid.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the all-new C-HR would elevate the premium experience for small SUV buyers with its blend of head-turning design and premium appointments.

“The new C-HR brings a new level of premium luxury to the small SUV segment, blending dynamic design and strong technology with a high level of specification and low fuel consumption,” Mr Hanley said.

“The choice of two intelligent hybrid powertrain options combined with the European design and manufacture make the new C-HR more appealing than ever before,” he said.

Under the bonnet of the 2024 Toyota C-HR are two drivetrain choices: a 103kW 1.8-litre four-cylinder hybrid in the GXL and Koba, or a larger 145kW 2.0-litre hybrid with all-wheel drive in the GR Sport. The 1.8-litre drivetrain uses a 72kW/135Nm engine with a 70kW/185Nm electric motor – the 2.0-litre uses a 112kW/190Nm 2.0-litre engine combined with 83kW front and 30kW rear electric motors.

Both drivetrains feature a new lithium-ion battery, which provides reduced weight and an increased output by 14 per cent compared to its predecessor, according to Toyota.
