Ford Australia has announced local pricing of its first all-electric car to go on sale in Australia: the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Due in local showrooms in late 2023, though available to order from 2pm this afternoon, the Mach-E will offer three models locally and is priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs for the entry Select. The Mach-E is the third electrified Ford product to be sold locally after the Escape PHEV currently on sale and e-Transit that’s due in Ford showrooms soon.

“We’ve had a brilliant response to Mustang Mach-E since we confirmed it for Australia a few weeks ago, and can’t wait to give customers the chance to get behind the wheel later this year,” said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand.

Three 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E models will be on offer in Australia: Select, Premium and GT. The Select is the entry point to the range and is priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs. Standard kit on the Select includes ‘Sensico’ synthetic leather upholstery, eight-way powered front seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a 15.5-inch touchscreen with Ford’s ‘Sync 4’ software, a 10-speaker B&O sound system, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging and Ford’s ‘E-Latch’ door handles.

The Mustang Mach-E Select uses a 71kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for up to 470km of range, while it has a 198kW/430Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels. Based on UK specifications, the Select can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds.

The mid-spec Mustang Mach-E Premium (priced from $92,990 plus on-road costs) adds a larger 91kWh battery for up to 600km of range, as well as a more powerful 216kW/430Nm motor for the rear wheels. It also adds projector LED headlights, metal scuff plates and pedals, red stitching for the upholstery and multi-coloured LED ambient lighting. The Premium is slightly slower to 100km/h thanks to its larger battery at 6.2 seconds but unlike overseas models, there’s no all-wheel drive Premium on offer for now.

Finally, at the top of the range is the Mustang Mach-E GT ($108,990 plus on-road costs). It uses the same 91kWh battery as the Premium, but adds a front electric motor for all-wheel drive. The GT makes 358kW of power and 860Nm of torque for a range of up to 490km and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds.

The Mustang Mach-E GT also adds 20-inch alloy wheels, ‘MagneRide’ adaptive dampers, three more driving modes, Brembo front brakes, sports front seats and Pirelli tyres.

2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E pricing (plus on-road costs):

  • Select RWD: $79,990
  • Premium RWD: $92,990
  • GT AWD: $108,990
