The facelifted 2023 Hyundai Palisade was revealed recently and without much of a wait, has gone on sale in Australia. There is now a revised look, more tech and some slight price hikes with this new model starting from $65,900 plus on road costs. Arriving into local showrooms next month, the new Palisade will be available in two different models with both of the existing engines: the 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine and the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6.

“With a bold new style, enhanced luxury, and additional segment-leading safety technology for 2023, Palisade continues its place as the SUV flagship of the Hyundai range,” Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ted Lee said.

Gone is the base model known as ‘Palisade’ and the range now starts with the petrol V6 Palisade Elite, which starts at $65,900 plus on-road costs (a $3,700 increase over the existing model). Choosing the turbo diesel increases the price by $4,000 to $69,900. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Highlander fitted with the V6 petrol engine will set buyers back $75,900 and the turbo diesel comes in at $79,900.

New features for the 2023 Hyundai Palisade include a new design to the 20-inch alloy wheels, Hyundai Bluelink (an app which can offer information about your Palisade), SOS emergency call functionality, a new centre airbag, junction assist to the AEB system, speed limit assist, rear collision avoidance, a reverse light guide (like Genesis offers), a digital rear view mirror, remote parking assist, a larger 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, voice control, remote vehicle start and auto defogging for the windows.

Also new on the new model is ventilated seats for the second row of the eight-seat models, USB-C ports (previously USB-A), cloud-based navigation, a better wireless charging system (upgraded from 5w to 15w and now includes a cooling fan), LED reversing lights and a full length third brake light at the rear.

According to Hyundai, the interior is more premium in the new Hyundai Palisade with the dash, doors, armrests and seats now covered in new leather trim.

The powertrains remain unchanged with the petrol 3.8-litre V6 powering the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic and producing 217kW of power and 355Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre ‘Smartstream’ turbo diesel four-cylinder powers all four wheels through the same eight-speed automatic while producing 148kW of power and 440Nm of torque.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade also promises to be more comfortable than the outgoing model with a revised suspension tune which has been specially changed for Australia. Subtle changes to the interior material thickness and redesigned seals means there will be less noise, harshness and vibration in the cabin.

2023 Hyundai Palisade pricing (plus on-road costs):

  • Elite V6 2WD: $65,900
  • Elite CRDI AWD: $69,900
  • Highlander V6 2WD: $75,900
