Ahead of launching the new-generation 7 Series luxury sedan, BMW Group Australia has moved to a five-year/unlimited km warranty for its BMW, Mini and BMW Motorrad motorcycles effective for all vehicles registered from October 1st, 2022. Replacing the former three-year warranty, BMW now joins the vast majority of its rivals in offering five years of coverage and five years of roadside assistance as well.

Wolfgang Buechel, CEO of BMW Group Australia, said the new warranty was available to customers just as the company was expanding its portfolio of services, product lines and electrified models, the range of which is among the broadest of any manufacturer represented in Australia.

“The new warranty offering perfectly complements our extensive range of ownership benefits, making the purchase of a new BMW or MINI even more compelling while providing long term peace of mind for our customers during their ownership journey,” Mr. Buechel said.

“We selected this time to introduce our new warranty along with the market debut of the seventh generation BMW 7 Series – a vehicle renowned for treating its occupants to peerless levels of luxury, technology and refinement.

“We look forward to introducing our new warranty and collaborating with our valued dealer network around the country to continue providing a high level of service and experiences to our customers.”

The company says the new warranty adds to the existing ‘Beyond’ ownership packages currently available. These packages include emergency callout, dealership hospitality services, app software updates, and app-controlled features such as remote door locking and cabin ventilation.

BMW is the last top 20 manufacturer in Australia to adopt a five-year warranty term, joining rivals such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, Alfa Romeo and Genesis. It’s currently sitting in second place in luxury car sales in Australia so far in 2022, with 20,104 sales under its belt – only 3,000 sales behind Mercedes-Benz.
