The fourth and final piece (for now) of a massive product offensive for 2022, Nissan Australia has confirmed that the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder will go on sale locally before the end of 2022, while also revealing the local pricing and specifications for the important new large SUV. Priced from $54,190 plus on-road costs, the new Pathfinder will be available in four model grades with a single powerplant: a 202kW/340Nm 3.5-litre petrol V6 in either front- or all-wheel drive drive formats.

“The new Pathfinder is both rugged and refined, capable and comfortable, and distils everything Nissan has learned over the model’s proud 30-year history in Australia into one adventure-ready and family-friendly package,” says Adam Paterson, Managing Director, Nissan Australia.

For now, a single drivetrain will be available in the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder range: a 202kW/340Nm 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine that’s mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the CVT automatic of the previous Pathfinder. Fuel consumption is rated at 10.0L/100km for 2WD models, and 10.5L/100km for AWD models. In models equipped with all-wheel drive, a variety of drive modes are available: Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut and Tow. Speaking of towing, the new Pathfinder can tow up to 2,700kg (braked).

At the entry point to the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder range is the two-wheel drive only ST, which is priced from $54,190 plus on-road costs (around $59,000 drive away). Safety equipment includes nine airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian, cyclist and intersection assistance, rear low-speed AEB, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, auto high beam, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors.

Above the ST sits the all-wheel drive only ST-L ($59,990 +ORC – around $66,000 drive away), which adds a leather steering wheel, remote engine start, a 360-degree parking camera, lane centre assist, rear privacy glass, a power tailgate, black roof rails and LED front fog lights.

The Pathfinder Ti (2WD: $63,990 +ORC, AWD: $67,990 +ORC – $70,000 to $75,000 drive away) then adds leather upholstery, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, a 13-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, heated outboard middle row seats, rear door sunshades, an auto-dimming rear mirror and a third row USB port.

Finally, the top-spec Pathfinder Ti-L (AWD only – $77,890 +ORC – around $85,000 drive away) then adds 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a seven seat layout with second row captain’s chairs, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, quilted leather upholstery with ventilated front seats, 12-way driver and four-way passenger electrically adjustable front seats, memory for the driver’s seat, steering wheel and mirrors, a digital rear mirror, ambient interior lighting, automatic wipers and chrome exterior trim.
