Every month we see new electric vehicles being launched on the Australian market and this month sees the launch of the 2022 LDV eT60, which is a significant moment for Australia in particular as it’s the first all-electric ute to be sold locally. It uses an 88.55kWh lithium ion battery pack for a WLTP-rated range of 330km, while it can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in as little as 45 minutes thanks to its maximum charging rate of 80kW. The eT60 is priced at $92,990 drive away.

“We’re delighted the LDV eT60 is Australia’s first electric ute, and now is the time to build on our first mover advantage,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, LDV General Manager.

“We’re an OEM offering Australia’s first electric ute and everything that comes with that fact: a nationwide dealer network, factory-backed servicing and warranty, and a significant spare parts operation to manage our fast-growing carpark. And now we have Australia’s first electric ute – and this is why we’ve secured fleet agreements with major global and Australian companies, Federal, State and Local governments and fleet operators who are committed to running their businesses in a more environmentally-sound manner.”

Based on the popular T60 ute, the 2022 LDV eT60 uses a 130kW/310Nm electric motor that drives only the rear wheels. It draws power from an 88.55kWh lithium-ion battery that’s mounted underneath the body. The battery can be charged at up to 80kW for a 0 to 80 per cent charge in as little as 45 minutes using a DC charger – using a slower 11kW AC charger increases this to around nine hours. According to the WLTP test cycle, the eT60 has a range of 330km.

The 2022 LDV eT60 uses the same Australian-tuned suspension as its T60 Pro sibling, with a braked towing capacity of 1,000kg and a payload of 1,000kg.

Standard equipment on the 2022 LDV eT60 includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and wipers, LED tailights and daytime running lights, side steps, a sports bar, a spray-in tub liner, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay, six-way electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, air-conditioning, two USB-A ports, two 12V sockets, a 220V household socket, electric windows and mirrors, six airbags, traction- and stability control, anti-lock brakes, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

Just one option is available: $500 metallic paint.

The 2022 LDV eT60 has a five-year/160,000km warranty with five years/130,000km of roadside assistance and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty. Service intervals are once every two years or every 30,000km, whichever comes first.
