The 2025 Kia EV4 has been officially unveiled, with the Korean brand teasing the exterior design of its latest EV for the world to see. We now know that the EV4 will come in both sedan and hatchback bodystyles, with the Korean brand set to detail the EV4’s interior design and product specifications on 27 February.

The EV4 is set to share its powertrain with the EV3 small SUV and should feature a 150kW/283Nm front-mounted electric motor, available with 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh battery options. In the EV3, these configurations deliver between 436km and 605km of WLTP-rated range, with DC fast-charging rates of either 102kW or 128kW, depending on the battery size.

To save on cost, a 400V electrical architecture will come standard on the EV4, much like on the EV3, with the brand forgoing the more expensive 800V system on the EV6 and EV9.

For now, technical specifications remain under wrap and Kia’s press release focuses on the exterior design, which stays true to the concept car which debuted back in 2023, featuring sharp creases and vertical lighting elements at the front and rear. The sedan looks rather striking with a steeply raked rear window, while the hatchback adopts a boxier shape, which should deliver on improved practicality.

Although Kia has yet to release the EV4’s dimensions, it is poised to compete directly with the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal, as well as smaller cars such as the MG4. A high-performance GT model is expected, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. Expect more details to follow shortly.

The EV4 rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, with GT-Line variants offering unique wheel designs and revised bumpers. Prominent black cladding adds an SUV-like flair to both body styles, and flush door handles contribute to a streamlined look, which will no doubt help with aerodynamics.

Inside, the EV4’s cabin is expected to follow the concept’s minimalist approach, much like the EV3’s production model. A clean dashboard layout and a split-level centre console are likely, though some additional physical controls and new colour choices may differentiate the production version.
