Ahead of its fourth quarter 2022 local release, Kia Australia has announced the key feature upgrades for the 2023 Kia Seltos. Ushering in some new styling, a full list of standard safety equipment – even on the base model S – and even a new drivetrain, the updated Seltos looks to build on the current model’s long list of attributes. It will also earn Kia’s new Kia Connect online services, which is complimentary for the first seven years of ownership and gives the car access to online services.

“The response to Seltos has been extraordinary over the last three years and we are very pleased to be introducing its improved successor”, said Kia’s Chief Operating Officer, Damien Meredith.

“It’s rare to find a car that appeals as much to families as it does to singles and couples. With the inclusion of extra safety and convenience technology across the board, we’re positive new Seltos will continue to win buyers over with its unmatched combination of style and practicality”.

The biggest change to the Seltos is the exterior, which has new lighting, new bumpers and new alloy wheel designs. Under the bonnet of the 2023 Kia Seltos are the same drivetrains as the current model, though the optional 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine has been updated and now features an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The interior of the 2023 Kia Seltos has – like the exterior – been massaged for greater comfort, while adding new technology, including the dual 10.25-inch infotainment and digital driver’s displays that already feature in the Sportage and Sorento SUVs for the Sport, Sport+ and GT-Line models. The climate control panel has also been redesigned, while all models now have rear air vents and rear USB-C charging ports. The GT-Line also adds memory functionality for the driver’s seat and a powered bootlid.

As before, the 2023 Kia Seltos will be offered in base S, mid-spec Sport and Sport+, as well as top-spec GT-Line. The safety package on the S and Sport will now standard across the range, which means that all models have the full active safety suite, including auto emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, intelligent speed limit assist, lane follow and lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert (both with active braking) and auto high beam.

Local pricing and specifications for the 2023 Kia Seltos will be announced ahead of its fourth quarter 2022 Australian release. Stay tuned to DiscoverAuto for the latest automotive news and reviews.
