Toyota Australia has launched the ninth-generation ‘XV80’ Camry in Australia, with first deliveries due to commence soon. Priced from $39,990 plus on-road costs, the 2025 Toyota Camry is now hybrid-only in line with the company’s hybrid mission for its passenger cars, and is available in three models: entry-level Ascent, mid-spec Ascent Sport and top-spec SL. At just 4.0L/100km on the claimed combined cycle, the new Camry is 11 per cent more efficient than the model it replaces, yet also more powerful.
“Customer demand for Toyota’s fuel-saving Hybrid Electric technology has grown ever-stronger in recent years, and the new Camry’s hybrid-only lineup reflects that demand,” said Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley.
“At the same time, its stylish good looks make it a standout on the road with all the safety, comfort and advanced technology that will ensure it remains Australia’s favourite mid-sized sedan,” he said.
Measuring 4,920mm long, 1,840mm wide, 1,445mm tall and riding on a 2,825mm long wheelbase, the new Camry measures 35mm longer overall than the previous model but rides on the same length wheelbase.
Under the bonnet of the 2025 Toyota Camry is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s mated to an electric motor and an eCVT automatic transmission. Its total system output is 170kW, which is 10kW more than the previous shape Camry. The claimed combined fuel consumption for the Camry range is just 4.0L/100km.
