Australian pricing and specifications for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 have been announced ahead of its local arrival in June 2023. Just one model will be available initially, with Mercedes-Benz Australia electing to import only the ‘300’ variant of the range so far. Priced from $104,900 plus on-road costs, the new generation GLC is priced $12,600 more than the last-generation model, which is offset by more standard equipment and a mild-hybrid system for greater efficiency, according to the company – though it’s not a fully electric model like the EQC or EQA.

Under the bonnet of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. It’s accompanied by a 48V mild-hybrid system that adds 17kW/200Nm of grunt for total system outputs of 190kW of power and 400Nm of torque. Its claimed 0-100km/h sprint time is 6.2 seconds, while the claimed combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.7L/100km. This is the only engine option available in the GLC in Australia for the time being.

Measuring 4,716mm long, 1,890mm wide, 1,640mm tall and with a 2,888mm long wheelbase, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 is 60mm longer overall and has a 15mm longer wheelbase, as well as the same width and 4mm less height, than the previous-generation GLC. Its 620-litre boot (with the seats up) is 50L larger than the previous GLC.

Standard equipment on the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 includes 20-inch alloy wheels, the sportier looking ‘AMG Line’ exterior package, a panoramic sunroof, aluminium-look running boards, keyless entry and start with a hands-free tailgate, ‘Artico’ synthetic leather upholstery with powered (with memory) and heated front seats, an 11.9-inch touchscreen with the brand’s latest ‘MBUX’ operating system, inbuilt satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, a heads-up display and premium paint.

Just one option package is available for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300: the $6,900 Plus Package, which adds digital light headlights with matrix adaptive high beam, heat- and noise-insulating glass, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, augmented reality navigation and an upgraded alarm system.
