Revealed earlier in the year, the 2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake has gone on sale in Australia. To be available in a single high-spec variant for now, the G70 Shooting Brake adds a new wagon option to the premium mid-size segment – one that has suffered a lot of wagon deaths, including the imminent discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon. Based on the G70 sedan, the Shooting Brake is on sale in Australia now priced from $79,000 plus on-road costs – only $2,000 more than the sedan – to join the new GV70 in the Genesis stable.
“G70 Shooting Brake brings new allure to the G70 model line with its classic coupe-wagon styling, superb performance and an array of safety and convenience technology,” Genesis Motors Australia Chief Executive Officer, Jun Heo said.
Based on the 2022 Genesis G70 sedan – a car we’re very fond of here at DiscoverAuto – the G70 Shooting Brake is new to the range and has arrived to coincide with the brand’s launch into Europe, where wagons are still big business. Rather than offering practicality as its selling point, the G70 Shooting Brake mixes form and function for a handsome aesthetic.
