The 2021 Citroen C3 has launched in Australia with a mild facelift, which includes revised exterior styling, more standard equipment and according to Citroen, it has dialled up the charisma and charm. Priced from $28,990 plus on-road costs, the 2021 Citroen C3 is priced the same as the 2020 variant – but features such as LED headlights and front parking sensors are now standard.

Competing with cars such as the Toyota Yaris, Mazda2, Volkswagen Polo, Kia Rio, Skoda Fabia and Suzuki Swift, the 2021 Citroen C3 further injects some French flair into the light car segment. New to the Australian C3 range includes new exterior colours, new colours for the roof and mirrors, a new aqua interior colour theme with revised upholstery and new alloy wheels – the cute ‘AirBumps’, split-headlight face and circular rear continue. 

Standard kit on the 2021 Citroen C3 is reasonable with LED headlights with LED front and rear daytime running lights, auto lights and wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation, digital radio, a leather steering wheel, keyless entry and start with auto-folding mirrors, cruise control with a speed limiter and auto windows.

Standard safety kit includes six airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, auto high beam, driver attention monitoring, speed sign recognition, lane departure warning, a reversing camera with front and rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring.

As before, the 2021 Citroen C3 is equipped with an 81kW/205Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that’s matched to a six-speed automatic as standard. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 4.9L/100km with CO2 emissions claimed at 110g/km and the 0-100km/h sprint is dealt with in 10.8 seconds with a top speed of 188km/h.
