Ahead of the first deliveries arriving soon, the 2023 Renault Koleos has gone on sale in Australia armed with new equipment across the range, a new mid-spec Zen 4×4 trim and styling tweaks like new 18-inch alloy wheels. Prices are up by $2,900, but that’s offset by the new standard equipment, according to Renault. Koleos sales are up 72.7 per cent this year to the end of October to 2,297 units – not a patch on cars like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5, but still a healthy increase.

“Koleos is the backbone of the Renault passenger car brand,” says Glen Sealey, Renault Australia General Manager.

“And while our new electrified vehicles are on the horizon for this market, these additions to the Koleos range allow us to continue to provide Australians with safe, stylish, well-equipped and value for money premium SUVs.”

New features added to the 2023 Renault Koleos Life ($37,000 plus on-road costs) include a new 18-inch alloy wheel, blind-spot monitoring, rear privacy glass, auto-folding mirrors, a height-adjustable front passenger seat, cloth and leatherette upholstery, sun visors with illuminated mirrors, customisable ambient lighting and front and rear parking sensors.

That’s in addition to the already-standard equipment, including automatic LED headlights, auto wipers, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB), lane keeping assistance, auto high beam and a reversing camera.

The mid-spec Zen (from $41,700 plus on-road costs) now features (in addition) black leather upholstery, an 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen, one-touch folding rear seats, automatic parking, a hands-free tailgate, LED reverse lights, scrolling rear LED indicators and chrome door sill plates. The Zen also features satellite navigation, an electric driver’s seat, heated front seats and rear USB ports.

The top-spec Intens (from $45,200 plus on-road costs) adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, black Nappa leather upholstery, an electric passenger seat, memory and massaging for the driver’s seat and ventilated front seats.

The top-spec Intens’ Bose sound system has been replaced by the eight-speaker Arkamys unit from lower models, while grey has been removed from the upholstery options – black Nappa leather is now the sole option.

The entire 2023 Renault Koleos range is powered by a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Two-wheel drive is available across the range, while all-wheel drive is also available on the mid-spec Zen and top-spec Intens for $2,500 extra – fuel consumption for two-wheel drive models is rated at 8.1L/100km, 0.2L/100km less than all-wheel drive models. CO2 emissions are rated between 188g/km and 192g/km.

2023 Renault Koleos pricing (plus on-road costs):

  • Life 4×2: $37,000
  • Zen 4×2: $41,700
  • Zen 4×4: $44,200
