The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N has officially broken cover at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, making its world debut as the South Korean carmaker’s latest electric performance car. Building on the success of the IONIQ 5 N, this new dual-motor EV combines blistering speed with some clever tech, all wrapped in the svelte aerodynamic silhouette of the IONIQ 6.

IONIQ 6 N

The IONIQ 6 N is powered by dual electric motors producing up to 478kW and 770Nm of torque when N Grin Boost mode is engaged. It sprints from 0–100km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 257km/h, setting a new benchmark for high-performance EVs in its class.

Equipped with an 84kWh lithium-ion battery on Hyundai’s advanced E-GMP 800V platform, the IONIQ 6 N offers ultra-fast charging capabilities—10% to 80% in 18 minutes with a 350kW DC charger. There’s no word yet on official range but expect a usable real word figure of around 350km on a full charge.

The IONIQ 6 N isn’t just quick in a straight line. Hyundai’s N division has worked hard to give the sedan it a complete mechanical overhaul, including:

  • A widebody stance with aggressive aerodynamic enhancements
  • A motorsport-inspired rear wing, flared fenders, and lightweight forged alloy wheels
  • Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) with new stroke-sensitive dampers
  • Reinforced chassis and uprated bushings for greater rigidity

Like the IONIQ 5 N, you’ll get the N e-Shift feature which replicates the gearshifts of a dual-clutch automatic, but the improved model brings bigger brakes and bespoke Pirelli P-Zero 5 275/35/20 tyres.

As with the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N will come with:

  • N e-Shift delivers simulated gear changes
  • N Active Sound+ offers customisable sound profiles, mimicking ICE engines
  • Torque vectoring, drift mode, and N Track Mode let drivers fine-tune the car’s behaviour
  • A new battery preconditioning system helps with performance and longevity during spirited driving

“IONIQ 6 N combines formidable power, sophisticated battery management, aerodynamic mastery and advanced suspension systems to deliver a compelling blend of speed, stability and comfort, setting new benchmarks in modern automotive engineering,” said Manfred Harrer, Executive Vice President, and Head of Vehicle Development Tech Unit at Hyundai Motor Company.

We’re super excited to see what the IONIQ 6 N looks like in the flesh once it debuts locally. Hyundai Australia remains tight lipped on pricing, but expect the three-figure price tag, not dissimilar from the IONIQ 5 N’s $111,000 starting price. Stay tuned to DiscoverAuto for any updates regarding the IONIQ 6 N.
